Last time we talked about being aware of false teachers, because they can be anywhere. We know how to avoid them because Matthew 7:20 says, "Thus you will recognize them by their fruits."

Looking back...

Do you guys remember what we talked about at our last meeting?

We talked about how we should look at the entire board and what may happen next before we make our moves. If we don't, we could end up wasting the game in chess -- and in life, money, time, or even a friend.

Our next meeting

Hey guys, our next chess club meeting is not Sept. 29 but Oct. 6. Remember, we only have meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, not every other Tuesday.

Last Time....

Have you guys been practicing your strategies?

We learned how sacrificing may not seem so good at first but can end up being better in the long run. We also learned that God sacrificed His only Son so we can receive the greatest reward of all.

Just wanted to tell you guys that God wants us to know His word and what it has to tell us. So I would like for everyone to memorize the Bible verse we looked up our last meeting (Mark 12:30) and be prepared to say it to Jake Blankenship next week.

Our first meeting was a blast!

It is so much fun to be able to make new friends, play chess, solve puzzles, learn new strategies and, most of all, learn how to become stronger in the Lord. At our first meeting, we talked about how important it is to take control of the center of the chessboard and how as Christians we need to make God the center of our lives.
